From Toosweetpatterns on Etsy. This is one of my absolute favorite dresses, and my daughter just loves twirling in it. it's super comfy, and just perfect for cooler weather. wear it solo in the spring, or layer it during fall and winter for a cozy getup.
skill level: you will be pleasantly surprised with how amazingly easy this dress is to sew. as always, no special tools are required.
Pattern Sizing:
12 months, 18 months, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, and girls 6/6X (S), 7/8 (M), 10/12 (L)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, the pictures are accurate.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Nice step by step directions with large pictures. Has detailed steps on how to make bias tape if you are not familiar with the process.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Thought the formatting of the actual pattern was odd, at least compared to other PDF patterns I've used. It seemed like the paper margins should not be cut off. When I did cut off the margins then the seam lines did not match up between sheets. The pattern is very simple so it was not hard to true up the side seams and I had no other problems with the pattern.
Style wise this was just what I was looking for to sew for my niece. My sister was also super pleased saying she'd been looking for a simple knit dress without any luck.
Fabric Used:
Cotton/Lycra knit from thefabricfairy.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I changed the neck binding to my preferred method, serging the bias binding on and then folding it over and coverstitching it down.
Also used the coverstitch machine on the sleeve and skirt hems.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would recommend this dress because it's cute and doesn't take long to make. If you're comfortable with knits then it's a breeze.
Conclusion:
Cute and comfortable, my niece likes it too.
