| Pattern Description
The garments I choose to make from this pattern were the long sleeve top with "front darts, button front, and stitched hem" and the pants with "elastic waistband". There's also a nightshirt, short sleeve top, shorts, and capri pants. My pajamas were for the winter, so I went long sleeve and long leg Maybe I'll make myself some shorts for the summer.
Pattern Sizing
So here's the fun part. I'm very pear shaped. The top size (12) I chose fit perfectly* once finished. The size 12 pants, though, I needed to alter a bit. If my hips weren't as big, I wouldn't have needed to alter, but we sew clothes so that they fit! I wish the pattern manufacturers still printed the finished measurements of the garments on the envelope, but at least I found them on the pattern before I started cutting and was able to adjust accordingly.
* okay, almost perfectly, but I'll talk about that later
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yep! As usual, McCall's patterns are true to what's on the envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Definitely! I didn't have any problems following the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that the shirt is fitted, so I don't feel like I'm swimming it in when I'm lounging around in it. Other gals might appreciate this feature more than me, but they had different pattern pieces for the front of the shirt depending on your cup size. Oh, and the pants were long enough for me! (I need a long inseam). I think the only thing I didn't like was that the waistband casing was part of the pant leg pattern piece (there were two pieces for the pants, front and back), so there's kind of an awkward seam on the front of the waistband. Lastly, the sleeves are just a smidge tight in the bicep. I didn't think I had worked out THAT much at the gym!
Fabric Used
Cotton flannel from Hancock (with penguins!)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made
Just widened at the hip on the pants, and goofed on the sides in which I installed the buttons on the top. Oops!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yep! These would make a nice gift if you didn't want to make yourself more than one set of pajamas (anytime soon).
Conclusion
Awesome pajamas! Definitely recommended! | Buy this pattern for $14.21 List Price: $18.95 Add to Bag |

Sewing pajamas is so stress-free and seeing you all comfy with your cute dogs makes me want to pull out the flannels and relax. Very nice!
