| Pattern Description: Learn to sew, Palmer Classic Pants with 3 views.
Pattern Sizing:8to 22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?Three variations to classic pants and the fitting tips. These were very good.
Fabric Used:Gabardine
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I followed the instructions to fit,so there were several. They have you place the pinned pattern pieces on for fit prior to cutting, not how I was taught, but easy to follow. They had multiple fit issue solutions. This was very helpful. The size I thought I was and ended up completing was no where near what I started at. I have lost quite a lot of wieght, and I haven't sewed for awhile. My body is very different than it was when I stopped sewing 25 yrs ago. I am tall, and curvy, 6'.
Once cut, the construction of the pants was easy to follow. Because I have been away from the machine, I went slow and followed the pattern's instructions exactly. There are also more fitting hints in the sewing instructions. I did need to make a third dart in the back, I was amazed how much this helped the pants waist fit and smoothed the material out.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?yes and yes. I am planning on making view B this week.
Conclusion: this was a good pattern to get me excited to start sewing again.
