| Pattern Description: Dixie DIY describes this pattern as follows: This is a one shoulder dress that hits at the knee ... Inside the bodice is elastic at the top to keep everything in place. Also, because the front and the back are identical you can wear the dress on either shoulder.
I used the basic pattern but made some modifications to the bodice, as well as graded the dress up a few sizes from her XL size.
Pattern Sizing: The pattern is sized XS- XL, I graded it up (the XL has a 33 inch waist).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I modified the bodice, but it turned out exactly as expected from the pattern photos.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I am a beginning sewer with a few jersey items under my belt. I found the pattern easy to grade and to modify. With a few more tweaks to the fit of the bodice, I think I will have a great basic dress pattern for the type of clothing I like to wear most- simple dresses in jersey! I also find Dixie's PDF patterns very easy to assemble and follow. The whole thing only 12 pages!
Fabric Used: Random cheapo jersey fabric from the stash. Love the pattern, though!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I wanted a basic, V-neck, sleeveless dress pattern, and this freebie seemed like a good place to start. The original dress is drafted as a "one shoulder" dress, so I slashed the pattern at the center front to create a bodice piece that could be cut on the fold. I redrafted a lower neckline in the front and left it as it was in the back. Additionally, I graded the pattern up about 8 inches at the bust and waist. I added about 10 inches to the hips to make the skirt a bit more gathered. I added clear elastic to support the shoulder seams and waist seam.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, the pattern as-is would be very easy to work with. However, I don't have a need to for one shoulder dresses in my very casual life, and modifying the pattern to have two straps was so easy that even this beginner could do it.
Conclusion: I struggled a bit with the cutting, obviously my vision of diagonal rows of leaves matching up in the center front was a bit more advanced than my actual fabric cutting abilities. In the end, it worked out OK, but I will tweak the bodice a bit more a likely shorten the skirt on the next iteration of this pattern. Suggestions/ feedback welcome!
