Pattern Description: Close fitting, pullover tops in two lengths with short, 3/4 or long sleeves.
Pattern Sizing: Small-XLarge. I made between a medium and large but graded to a size large below the waist.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? This pattern is soooo easy I didn't even use the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that it's a basic, blank slate of a top that can be made in lots of different knits. I like the raglan sleeves, too. This was a breeze to sew with my serger. There aren't serger/overlock instructions but if you can use a serger this pattern is a dream to sew it on. I used my regular sewing machine only to make the hem on the sleeves.
Fabric Used: Modal with spandex. Dreamy, soft and drapes beautifully.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I got rid of the seam along the bust and made the two pieces into one. Modal can be tricky to make clean, neat seams with so I took the easy way out and made the front one piece.
I had to cut between sizes, no big deal really. I started making the long tunic length top but the modal is so clingy and white... it didn't work out so I just nipped of them bottom and made it into a regular length shirt to tuck in.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I am going to sew this one again. I will use a more stable, heavier knit next time and likely make a dress from it. I totally recommend this one.
Conclusion: I didn't know this top was such a well loved pattern here. I got it on a good sale (you know where... Joann's) and just wanted to make a simple, versatile top. It's a great success! You can see more photos on my blog about my new top!
