Pattern Description:
Misses wide collared, off the shoulder dress with sleeves. Pattern Sizing:
I used a 14 for this pattern. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Definitely. It was more beautiful than I could have though. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Overall it was a very easy dress to make and the directions were straightforward and easy for even beginners to understand. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was drawn to the overall look of the dress. I love the wide collar and the option to have the sleeves or not. Fabric Used:
I lucked up on the silk dupioni in the clearance section at my local Hancock Fabrics and it matched a pair of shoes I had bought earlier that day. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't make any alterations at all. The only thing I did was make sure to lay out my pieces so that the plaid matched up as best as I possibly could get it. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I definitely would use this pattern again. I actually am thinking of using the upper portion to blend with some drafted pieces to create a costume for a character I love and have done several costumes of in the past. Conclusion:
This pattern gives you a beautiful, timeless dress that can be worn either dressier or more casual depending on the fabrics used and accessories put with it. I want to use it again in the future for sure.
