Pattern Description: Dresses A, B have fitted, pleated bodice, front neckline finished with bias tape, back zipper, flared skirt and stitched hems. A: armholes finished with bias tape. B: three-quarter length sleeves and purchased belt. For knit fabrics.

Pattern Sizing: 6-22. I made a 16.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!

Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't even have to use the instructions, that's how easy this dress is to make. I quickly looked over them and they looked easy to follow if I needed to.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is a great dress because it's a blank slate to work with. A basic a-line skirt with a fitted bodice, nothing more simple then that. I like the little pleating around the front neckline, it makes the dress a little more special.

I used my serger for this. So easy and fast. There aren't any serger/overlock directions but this pattern begs to be made on a serger.

Dislikes? None!

Fabric Used: A Missoni print. It's content is a mystery, possibly cotton poly or cotton acrylic.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made no major alterations and cut a straight 16 (even with my pear shape this dress fits really nicely). I'd normally go for a 14 but my material had almost zero stretch in one direction and no stretch in the other. I omitted the zipper (you just don't need a zipper in this dress) and left out the bias tape neckline- my material is stable enough to not need it and it would have added unnecessary bulk. I simply turned the raw edges over and sewed.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely I'd sew this one again. I love this pattern. The one thing I would change next time: lengthen the bodice by two inches. I'm 5'8" and the dress is designed for folks 5'6" and under.

This dress is a great pattern for beginners who want to try a Vogue pattern but are usually nervous because they can look complicated. This one is super easy and basic. I've been sewing for a number of years and love this pattern even though I can make more involved garments (but my lifestyle calls for an easy, washable wardrobe since I have a toddler

Conclusion: Love this dress pattern. I could make a dozen of them in a dozen different fabrics and have it be my uniform.

I have lots more photos on my blog.

Very nice! I love how the zig-zags work around the neckline, almost like a yoke due to the darting. I have some Missoni-ish zig-zag knit and you've given me some good ideas with this thanks. Enjoy your wonderful dress.
