Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I only got 3/4 through sewing it before declaring it a wadder, but, at that point, it pretty much looked like the pattern envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I have been in search for a nice pattern with a draped neckline to duplicate a favourite RTW shirt. I cut out a size 10 based on measurements. I could have gone down to an 8 but I don't think it would have made enough difference with the fitting issues we had. I am just getting back into sewing for myself after losing a significant amount of weight so I am trying to trust the pattern envelope in selecting a size. I did double check the chest and waist before cutting tracing off and cutting out.
The main problem I had was that the armholes were just way too low for me...a good two inches or more too low. I also decided that I didn't like the way the front shoulders were gathered. I have fairly muscular, broad shoulders for a petite person and I don't feel gathered fabric at the shoulder or sleeve cap are very flattering on me, so I decided it wasn't worth the trouble to pursue altering this pattern to fit better.
One other thing I disliked (and disregarded) about this pattern was the use of bias tape to bind the back neckline. I decided to bind with self fabric.
Fabric Used:
Bamboo Lycra Knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
If one were to go ahead and make this pattern I would suggestions using a knit binding on the back neckline.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Personally, I would not make this again. I liked the cut/shape through the body and the longer length was a good length for me needs, but issues with the armhole fitting and the style issues at the shoulder make it a no-go for me.
