Misses easy lined coat

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I did not like the shortcuts taken for the lining. I know it is labeled an easy pattern, but I'm used to there being different pattern pieces for the side lining and side jacket and then being sewn together in a way that the jacket material folds to the inside and attaches there to the lining. This had both pieces cut from the same large pattern piece, sewn together, and then folded back inside and hand-stitched down.

Fabric Used:
I went to the suiting section and picked a heavy material. Unfortunately I didn't pay close enough attention and it was a stretchy material. I picked it out because it had such a nice drape when I was holding it over my arm. I also picked out a slightly heavier lining because I really liked the pattern. And I remember one class I took when someone said that the lining is a hidden treasure that should make you happy (and it doesn't have to show at places like work). So I picked out something that my kids both think is over the top!

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No. I would pick another pattern with the lining done differently. If someone else prefers not to deal with lining that way, then yes I would recommend it to someone else. My daughter would like to use the pattern to make herself the coat as well since it really is a pretty finished product.

Conclusion:
I am glad I made the coat. I think it's wonderful and I look forward to wearing it at work with a new scarf I knitted! Here is a review on my website Redhead Crafty Brewer
