Pattern Description: Front drape tops with pleated shoulder. Front Back
Pattern Sizing: XSM-SML-MED, however, inside my pattern envelope was the pattern size Large-XL (frustrating!) so instead of trying to return this OOP pattern, I just graded the pattern tissue down to about a medium, but it still was huge and I took off about 1.5" from the side seams.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it does.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the drape front of this style which I made for my dear mother in law. I also love that it took only 1 yard to make and just a few hours to cut and sew.
Fabric Used: ITY jersey knit in a lovely purple from Mill End Store in Milwaukee, OR, only $7.99 a yard and a few dollars for the pattern, so about $10.00 in total to make this, love it!
This fabric is so drapey, soft and has a little sheen to it; so pretty and perfect for this style.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Well, as mentioned above, the pattern inside the XSM-SML-MED pattern envelope was actually a L-XL, and I could not exchage the pattern as it is now OOP, so I had to grade in the entire pattern. It was still large, so I took in the side seams at least an inch on both sides. I hope it fits her! On my mannequin it looks huge, but it's a size 4 and Dear MIL is not a 4, she's more like a size 8.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I will be sewing this again and I highly recommend it to others to sew!
I wish it was not OOP because I would run out and purchase the actual smaller pattern size because I want at least one of these for myself! Hopefully, McCalls has an OOP sale at some point so that I can purchase this great pattern in the correct size in the near future.
Conclusion: I love this top!

I've got this one so I appreciate your review. Your MIL should be very happy with her new top. It looks great. Darn, I think you may have just missed a $2.99 sale but I'm sure there will be another sale soon.

Very nice. I love the color. I made a few of these tops last spring. It is a very flattering pattern and was quick to make. I plan to make more. You may want to try the new Maria Denmark pattern sold here on Pattern Review for a similar top.
