Pattern Description: Tunic shirt with long sleeves (with front tucks). This is also a downloadable pattern from BurdaStyle.
Pattern Sizing: 38 - 46 I made the 38 although I usually wear 42 in BurdaStyle patterns. It runs big.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are fair. I would say that a beginner might want to have another reference available since some directions are limited. For example, the instructions for setting in the sleeves say, "Set in sleeves."
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I especially liked the front tucks and the tunic length. The continuous placket sleeve vent was something I wanted to try as well, and I'm pleased with how it came out using my old New Vogue Sewing Book (1980) as a guide.
Fabric Used: I made this version in a polyester peachskin. However, I have made this in a cotton batiste blend for a friend as that is the recommended fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will sew this again, but I will stick to the lighter weight fabric as I think the tucks come out a little smoother. I would recommend this to those who like a floaty tunic/shirt that is not fitted. This pattern is probably a challenge for a beginner, but if you've made a shirt before, it should not be too difficult.
Conclusion: This is a comfortable shirt that has just enough detail.
