Pattern Description:
Knit dress with full skirt, lined bodice and front pleats.
Pattern Sizing:
Multi-sized. I made a size 8.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I thought so. Take a look.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I found them very easy to follow. My fabric was very easy to mark for the pleats and I think this helped when putting it together.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the way it went together but the front was a little difficult to sew with all those layers of fabric.
Fabric Used:
A rayon lycra knit that unfortunately snagged on my walking foot a lot. I created a border along the hem and sleeves by using a wooden block and textile inks.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made 3/4 length sleeves. I also added some beads and sequins to my printed design for interest.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. I would like to make another version. Its a fun dress.
Conclusion:
I thought the dress was quick (except for the beading) and easy to make. It fits nicely and is really comfortable.

Lucy in Virginia said... What a beautiful dress! Love the borders you created. You can prevent snagging by wrapping both seams with thin water soluble stabilizer like Sulky. Easy to find in JoAnn's, etc. Then cut or gently tear away. Steam away last bits. 1/7/13 10:09 AM
