Pattern Description: Shirtwaist dress in two lengths.
Pattern Sizing: 8 - 22. I made a FBA adjustment on the front bodice.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? I have made this pattern before, and found it very easy to follow. I was very grateful to Ladyithis for her link to a detailed tutorial on how to sew the collar. This was slightly confusing first time round.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's really easy to sew and goes together really well. It's also a great, almost 50s style dress - the skirt is quite full yet flattering at the waistline because there are no gathers. I like the plackets for the buttons and buttonholes that go all the way down. The short-sleeved version has also quite a retro look all up.
Fabric Used: I used Liberty print lawn which is wonderful to sew and even nicer to wear. I used cute flower-shaped shell buttons which i found at Tessuti.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made my usual size 14 with a FBA on the top front bodice. I used the shorter version, but added about 5cm to the length. I didn't add the cuff to the sleeve, but rather just lengthened the sleeve itself by the same amount and didn't make it in two parts. I made the front part of the pockets out of lining and the back out of fabric to reduce bulk at the waist and this works well.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes - I may make another sleeveless version.
Conclusion: This is a great dress to sew and to wear, and the look can be varied with a change of belt.
So cute! Love your fabric and button choice.

Nice. Like your slightly longer sleeves. Looks good with the self-belt, too.
