The fabric before it is sewn--yes, I have it in green, too!
Pattern Description:
Pull-on pants and shorts have pockets in side seams and cuffs. Waist has elastic in casing, drawstring, and header forming ruffle. Casing, drawstring, and cuffs are from contrast fabric. Pull-over tank top has a scoop neckline, and armholes and neckline are finished with narrow hems. Pattern includes 1/4 inch (6mm) seam allowances.
I made the pull-on pants and I did not use contrast fabric. It was all about the cows and I didn't want to take attention away from them.
Pattern Sizing:
Kwik Sew's usual line-up of XS,S,M,L,XL.
I sewed my usual KS size of between an L and an XL.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except for the fact I didn't use two different fabrics.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Gotta love Kwik Sew instructions. I will say that waistband/header treatment had me scratching my head, but I finally figured it out.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked that--at last--I was able to make pockets that looked really good. Oh, and how often do you see pj bottom patterns with pockets included? That's a very good thing to have and this pattern includes pockets.
Fabric Used:
I used a 100% Alexander Henry fabric called "In the Moo . . . od" with a copyright of 2007. This info was printed on the selvage.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Once again, I used only one fabric, foregoing the contrast fabric in this version. I did lengthen the pj bottoms since I did not add the contrast cuff.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will definitely sew this pattern over and over. The top is great, too, especially since it's made of 100% organic knit fabric which is super soft.
Conclusion:
This is a great pj pattern. It includes the stylish addition of contrast fabrics, the usefulness of pockets, and legs that are narrower than your average pj bottom pattern. I do highly recommend this pattern. Sweet dreams!
