Pattern Description:
Misses'/Women's Tunics fitted at the bust.
Pattern Sizing:
A5(6-8-10-12-14). I made it in a 6, but ended up being quite fitted.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It looked like a tighter wife-beater version.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, definitely!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that it can be made in both wovens and knits. I love that it is fitted at the bust but loosely drapes to the hip (not in my version, but on the pattern cover). I like the RTW look of it.
Fabric Used:
A very sheer and stretchy black, ribbed knit. Black lace for the contrast fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Since I made the tank in a knit, I removed the bust darts (closed the darts on the pattern and cut the fabric).
I made the size 6 thinking that the stretch of the fabric would add a lot more ease. It ended up fitting quite tight in terms of how it looks on the pattern cover models. I had to raise the hem up to my high hip (took off about 6 inches). Now it looks like a fitted wife-beater, which I don't mind.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I definitely want to sew it again. I bought 2 patterns (on sale at Joann for $0.99) because I knew I'd use one for knits and one for wovens. So I'd like to try it again using a silky lightweight in my correct size (12). I think it's a great and easy pattern and recommend it to others.
Conclusion:
Great basic to add to the wardrobe!
