| Used a piece of ultrasuede and made a size 10, view A. It should have fit by the pattern's finished size, but it was a bit snug in the middle (ahem). There is little ease in this pattern-the pattern was designed for a heavier fabric so you should consider this when cutting out the pattern. Although the pattern envelop recommends heavy fabrics, I am tempted to try it in one of the these lighter fabrics to see how it turns out. The pattern sews up very fast because the sleeves are cut as one piece with the front and back. I debated on whether to cut the front on the fold or go with the directions and create a seam with topstitching. I ended up following the pattern and instructions without any modifications. I even used the bias tape to complete the neckline finish, something I usually would not do. The length is good although next time I might make it longer by a few inches, and the overall design for view A is really just a classic tee. Its a great pattern to sew one day and wear the next day. I have no idea why the pattern company decided to show it in the horrible fabrics you see attached to this review. I used a rust colored Ultrasuede and the top turned out very elegant. |
