Pattern Description: Children's Nightgown and PJs
Pattern Sizing:2-6,7-10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yep.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were actually fairly reasonable, for the Big 4. I appreciated that they didn't set that raglan-ish sleeve in the round. That is such a huge pet peeve of mine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Likes: Super cute and girly!! My daughter twirled in her nightgown forever. Dislikes: It's a bit of a fabric hog.
Fabric Used: Cotton flannel from Joann
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Since my flannel had a pretty wild print, I didn't think it needed much more embellishment. Instead of the lace trim as per the pattern, I used piping, and just hemmed the sleeves and hemline. I also stitched elastic straight to the sleeve rather than making a casing. Faster and easier.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? My daughter loves her nightgown and has asked for more. I'll probably alternate this pattern with one that requires a little less fabric (like B4910). This one is luxurious, but most of my stash flannel is in shorter lengths. I do recommend it, both for the gown and for the PJs, which are a TNT for my son.
Conclusion: This pattern is sadly OOP, but if you can get your hands on it, do. It is very versatile and easy to sew, but results in very nice garments. Who doesn't love cozy PJs? |
Oh, how cute! Wish I had had daughters to make this for! :-)

It's so cute! I just made the same night gown for my GD in a vintage looking black and white with red buttons but I haven't reviewed it yet. I have to show her yours!
