Pattern Description:
"Boys' and Girls' sleeper and jumpsuit have zipper front, raglan sleeves with ribbing cuffs. View A has feet with gripper fabric and ribbing neckband. View B has hood with elastic and ribbing leg cuffs"
Despite the 40C+ temperatures DD wanted a onesie! They are all the rage here ATM for little kids, big kids and a few crazy adults! For DD's onesie we used the feet from View A and the hood from View B.
Pattern Sizing:
XS-S-M-L-XL, ages 4 to 14. DD needed the XL for length but a M for width. We chose the XL and just sewed slightly wider seams. The fit is loose but for a onesie who cares?
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, absolutely!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions are clear and well written and the illustrations are good. This is a very easy pattern and simple enough for 12 year old DD to make this herself. All I did was check her steps along the way and help with the curved seams around the feet and the wrist cuffs.
We chose to sew a straight stitch seam first and then over-lock (serge) due to DD's experience level, but I am sure a more experienced seamstress could make most of the garment on a serger.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Fast, simple and, according to DD, very comfortable!
Fabric Used:
Velour for the body and minky for the cuffs, feet and hood lining.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
We chose to line the hood with minky as DD wanted the contrasting colour and to have the lovely soft minky against her face.
We left off the elastic around the ankles and the hood.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Absolutely! Big Sis has now requested one too.
Conclusion:
Come on, jump on the band wagon and sew up a onesie for a lazy afternoon on the couch! Making your own is quick and easy and lets you choose your favourite fabrics and colour.

Love it. I have this pattern and have made a couple of versions for my boys to snuggle up in during the winter. It looks great with contrasting sleeves. I don't know how you are wearing it in Oz right now though, it's so hot!
