| Pattern Description:
Misses' Skirts and Sash. I made the version without the sash (view A).
Pattern Sizing:
AA(6-8-10-12). I made size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Not really. Mostly because I lengthened it to a maxi and I think the material I chose was less stiff than the fabric intended for the pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I LOVE THE POCKETS! I love anything with pockets, and a maxi skirt with pockets is all the better.
I wouldn't wear the length of the original skirt, I don't think. So, it's hard to say what I wouldn't like about the original pattern.
Fabric Used:
100% Cotton (Joann remnant)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lengthened the skirt to maxi length. At first I was going to include the contrast bands on the hem, but when I compared the weight of the skirt fabric and the contrast fabric, I found the brown contrast pieces to be too heavy. I think if I added them, they would add too much weight and take away from the drape flow-y-ness of the skirt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I wouldn't mind sewing this again as another maxi. Maybe I'd change the pleats to gathers. I recommend it because it was a quick make!
Conclusion:
I love the maxi version I made. Though I can't quite comment on the length of the original pattern, I think it is a fun, quick skirt to sew up.
