THis is a very fitted sheath dress with gussets and sleeve and neckline options. Pattern Sizing:
A wide range of sizes from 2 on up. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were pretty easy. I am reasonably experienced so I hardly used them actually. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the fitted shape. There are six darts and 5 seam lines so you can really tweak the design to fit your own curves. The gussets mean you can have a very fitted sleeve but still have a full range of movement. Fabric Used: The Back
Vintage cotton from ebay in this wonderful lustrous blue roses pattern. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I struggled with the pattern until I realized that I needed to grade up a size for my shoulders, upper bust and arm. So I was an 8 in the upper bust, a 6 at the waist and a 4 in the hips. My curves are in different places from Gerties! I had to fiddle with the princess seams over the bust to get them to look right. Why didn't I brush my hair? Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I would certainly sew it again. This is a very comfortable dress for such a slim shape and it got TONS of compliments. I have plans for at least three more dresses. Conclusion:
A fabulous dress if you take the time to really fit it to your figure. More details and lots of photos on my Le Correct Blog
