Pattern Description:
Pullover top has front pleats. View A: short sleeves.

Pattern Sizing:
14-20

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No. If you cut according to your size the pattern is very loose-fitting in the body and does not look like the version on the model. I removed several inches of width to get it to look like the pattern photo.

You can see pictures of my sad-looking top HERE.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
It is an easy top to make (rated very easy by Vogue), so I didn't really follow the instructions.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I'm not sure that this style of gather is suitable for a large busted figure. The center front sinks into my cleavage in a most unattractive manner. This causes a fold of fabric that makes it look like I need to add more FBA, even though I added plenty of space. The problem became much worse after I added the neckband (which I stupidly did not include in my muslin). With hindsight, I scrutinized the pattern photo and other reviewers' pictures and you can see hints of this problem everywhere except on very small-busted people.

The neckband is designed to have a bit of a sticky-out/foldy feature, which you can see clearly on the pattern drawing and in my photos. I'm not sure I like it - it just looks like it gapes in the front and at the back opening. The hook-and-eye closures catch in my (very long) hair every time I put it on. I prefer a loop and button closure.

Fabric Used:
I used a rather nice post-apocalyptic fabric consisting of a soft non-stretch mesh with a frayed cotton lawn applique. It wasn't terribly expensive, but I was quite in love with it and really wish I had made a second muslin, with the neckband.

I lined the front panel for (a bit) of modesty. I edged the neckline, sleeve and bottom openings to tidy up the frayed effect a bit.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added an FBA and removed about 3 inches of width from the back and sides. There is plenty more to remove. (I had graded the muslin out at the hip as I usually do for Vogue patterns.) I lengthened and widened the sleeves a bit.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I still like the sleeves of version B and C, but I will not be using the bodice pattern again. Other people have made this pattern and loved it, so maybe the problem lies with me, and the fact that I did not make a second muslin after making substantial pattern alterations, but I don't want to recommend this one.

Conclusion:
The top looks a bit better in real life than it does in the pictures, so I will wear it, but I don't consider this project much of a success.

I found a somewhat similar fabric after making this top, so hopefully I will still be able to make a garment suitable for end-of-the-world wear.

Your fabric is beautiful. Maybe a few strategic tucks?
