| Pattern Description: Blouse with frilled sleeves.
Pattern Sizing: 6-16. I made the size 10 (four sizes smaller than my bust measurements suggested!).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? I have the English version of this book. The words are sparse, but the diagrams are helpful. I didn't follow the instructions for the self cuff between the sleeve and the frill as it seemed pointless. I just sewed the seam, over-locked the raw edges, ironed the seam towards the shoulder and top stitched. I also used a gathering stitch to ease in the sleeves.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's a boxy style, which appeals to me. I just love the frilled sleeves.
Fabric Used: Cotton voile from Spotlight. Not a usual type of print for me, but I really like it. It's good to step outside your comfort zone every now and then!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I took a 1.5cm wedge out of the back neckline. This seems to be a standard alteration for me with Japanese patterns. I didn't add a seam allowance to the hem. I hemmed and per the instructions, so my version of the top is shorter than it was designed to be. It's just the way I like it!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be sewing it again but maybe not until next summer. So many other patterns to try first.
Conclusion: I'm very pleased with my latest make. More photos on my blog.
