"...remaking a man's vest. He brought one of his favorite vests to me ( completely stitched), and brought along with it a vest that was completely taken apart, by him.
"I want you to make me a vest JUST LIKE the one I have taken apart."
So, that 's what I did. In this photo you'll see the pattern that I made from his original vest,
So You Want Me to Remake Your Vest?
I'm not sure of the exact contents of this fabric, but this gentlemen likes to purchase his fabric from the home decor section. It looks like some sort of tweed. Maybe one of you can tell me what it is.
The lining is a poly shantung. His choice of buttons are those round satin buttons. I used the keyhole style for the buttonholes. To give it a firm look, I used a black medium crisp fusible interfacing.
I don't know if you can see it well, but the vest does have lapels. He even provided his own tie buckle for the back. All I had to do was copy and put it together.

Sewing For Men This Week
When he tried it on, he really liked it! We took pictures that day, soon as I can locate them I will update with a photo of him wearing it.
I use to make vest, ties, and shirts for my hubby all the time, but when I started working full-time, that kinda went out of the window. But, guess who wants more vest now~ DH, lol!!
I did make him a tie just recently. I will review it next.
The pattern that I linked to is the one that I made the tie from, but it has a similar vest to the one that I copied (Simplicity 4762).
