Pattern Description: Jersey Shirt with button down shirt styling - contrast collar and pocket, front button closure
Pattern Sizing: 62-92
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yep
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were typical for Ottobre - clear and concise but without any illustrations
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that this shirt has the look of a dressy shirt and the comfort of a knit. Ottobre doesn't publish many "dressy" shirts in the baby size range, so I was thrilled when I saw this one! No dislikes
Fabric Used: Stash remnants - stripe cotton jersey and solid woven cotton twill
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the collar and pockets out of woven fabric to match a pair of pants I also made. I also used ring snaps rather than buttons as the closure. I'm not in love with buttonholes in a knit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? My son is currently wearing the largest size in the range, but I probably will sew it at least once more before he outgrows the pattern completely. It is a great basic! I do recommend it highly if you are looking for a dressy shirt for a baby.
Conclusion: This sweet little shirt is the perfect combination of comfortable and dressy for a nice Sunday shirt for a baby boy. It was easy to sew, but has really cute details that make it special.
Another great Ottobre pattern--he looks so cute!
