Pattern Description:
60s Dress has collar, detachable dickey, fitted bodice, waistband, pleated skirt, and belt. Pattern Sizing:
I made a 12 I think...I need to start making 10s I think. I'm always paranoid that things will be to small because when I started I always made things tight and then never wore them. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! Obviously I don't have the same 60s flair and the sketch though. Were the instructions easy to follow?
I thought so, yes. I made view A. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the silhouette! I appreciate the fact there is no zipper. I love covered buttons, and this uses just the 4 on front as a closure.
I think the back part of the collar is a little big and the interfacing makes it lay a little funny sometimes. Fabric Used:
Brown corduroy. It only comes in 45". But it worked. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None this time! I put the sleeves from view B on my view a dress. I hand-stitched some lace trim around the collar and hem for contrast. I also added pockets. I love pockets. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! With less interfacing in the collar I would like to try the pencil version. Conclusion:
A very fun vintage pattern! I could be made up a million ways and accessorized to the moon.
