Were the instructions easy to follow?
Extremely!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I've never made a coat before, and I wanted my first coat pattern to have a full lining, but to be pretty simple in details to give me a chance to figure it out. This pattern fit both of those parameters. Also, I had this crazy fabric that I knew would look best with a simple pattern, and this coat pattern, with its few seams and plain detailing, really allows the fabric to shine.
Fabric Used:
Crazy black and green houndstooth suiting by Marc Jacobs, acquired on clearance from Fabric Mart. I'm not sure of the fiber content - I got it a while ago.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No design changes - I pretty much made the coat as it was.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably don't need to sew it again, because this is a pretty unusual coat silhouette for me, and I don't think I need more than one of these in my closet. But I'd definitely recommend it for beginner sewists looking to get their feet wet making coats!
Conclusion:
I'm happy! I used a fabric that's been burning a hole in my stash, and I've increased my confidence in the coat construction department!
