Pattern Description:
"MISSES' DRESSES: Pullover dresses have neckline variations, semi-fitted front gathered/back darted bodice, self-lined midriff, gathered or pleated skirt and side zipper. A: self ruffle. A and B: fold-back facings. C: single-layer flounces (wrong side shows). A and C: narrow hem. B and D: stitched hems. C and D: front button band."
I made view B.
Pattern Sizing:
6-14 and 14-22. I cut a 18.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Besides my modifications, yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The "lengthen/shorten here" line s on the bodice. Lengthening the bodice causes the bust gathering to be far too low. This pattern would probably look better on someone short-waisted.
Fabric Used:
A thrifted tablecloth of dubious content.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Oh my Bob, too many. I lengthened the bodice two inches, didn't line it, turned in the lapels and topstitched before whacking most of them off, left off the sleeves and turned the straps in an inch and put a 1.5 inch dart from neckline to middle of the strap to resolve bust-area bagginess.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I sewed it four times. I love the pleated skirt and will probably frankenpattern it, but I am so over the bodice.
Conclusion:
Would be best on short-waisted gals.
