Pattern Description: easy gored skirt
Pattern Sizing:misses, I used size 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes, I made view A, only added about 2" and did a narrow machine hem, so its more of a waltz length on 5'4" me.
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the graceful skirt width. it was a bit challenging to find the right notches for the seams.
Fabric Used:Purple linen blend with woven design
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I wasn't sure how it'd fit, so I sewed it a little big in the hip/waist, then ended up taking it in. I serged the seams, so I was pretty careful, I basted first and did a lot of trying on and adjustments when it was time for the side seams. did a serged finish on the waistband. I wanted to serge a 3-thread flat satin finish on the hem, but it didn't work like I wanted, and I ended up turning the serged edge under and doing a straight stitch narrow hem.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?yes, good basic skirt in an attractive, easy to wear style.
Conclusion: I love full skirts. I chose the fitted version because I want to wear it with an untucked top and a short jacket. I've recently gained weight, so I'm trying to create some appropriate wardrobe options in my new sizing. lots of basting, trying on, and pondering.
