Pattern Description:
Misses' knit mini-dress, tunic and top can be made with a front twist or draped neckline with five different sleeve variations to choose from. Simplicity sewing pattern. Pattern Sizing:
12-20. I did not want a form fitting dress so I cut it two sizes larger than I normally would. As you can see from the pics, it doesn't look like it's two sizes larger so it's either supposed to be very fitted or it runs small. Oddly, I cut the sleeves a size smaller than my normal size because I like fitted sleeves...I could've gone down another size. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I suppose it does. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Mostly. I found the pictures more helpful on some steps. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the neckline. This was a lot harder to make than I anticipated. It may have just been due to the fabric I was working with. I also pinned and re-pin the neck about 7 or 8 times before I actually sewed it, because it just didn't look right to me. The sleeves don't look as shirred as they do on the package IMO. Fabric Used:
Lycra from G Street Fabrics. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made view A with view C sleeves and I added a little under an inch to the length. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Probably not...or maybe I'd made the top version with long sleeves, but definitely using easier fabric. Conclusion:
I was so looking forward to this dress, but I think it's just ok.
