| Pattern Description:
Misses' day & evening dresses in three lengths, have empire waist, centre front seam, back zipper, bodice & sleeve variations.
I made dress F.
Pattern Sizing:
H5 (6-8-10-12-14); P5 (12-14-16-18-20)
I cut size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. However, I did mine shorter.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were clear, well written and helpful.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the knot on the front neckline.
I like the A-line shape and the dropped shoulders.
I also like how the armholes and the neckline are finished.
I was glad to see that the dress took me less time than I thought to be made.
Fabric Used:
Polyester Crepe.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I usually make a 12, but for a better fit, I sewed between 10 and 12 with shoulders and neckline being 10.
I lowered the front neckline by 2 1/2" because it was a little high. I do not like having the knot too close to my neck.
I shortened the dress to mid-calf (that meant 15" shorter for me).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I might sew it again, shorter and one size smaller.
There were not too many pieces to put together and it was fast to construct.
I would like to suggest to anyone who is planning to do this dress to be careful with the sizing. The pattern seems to run one size larger.
Conclusion:
This dress is comfortable to wear. Fit adjustments were easy to make. I like the overall look of the dress which is simple and nice.
