| Pattern Description:
Straight-legged pants have waistband, side pockets and mock fly zipper.
Pattern Sizing:
6-14, 14-22
I started with a size 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Well, pretty much, except I've narrowed the leg and taken fabric out of the thighs.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They looked fine, the zip instructions were particularly good. However, I don't need instructions to make trousers anymore so I didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I didn't like the waistband, a straight piece of fabric. That won't fit my shape without gaping. I substituted a 4 piece contour waistband from Burda 7447 instead.
Fabric Used:
A washable black and white wool mix.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Well where shall I start? My usual alterations ,deepening the back crotch, removing about 3 inches from the back waistband, and adding width at the hip. I also removed lots of fabric from the back thigh and narrowed the legs by tapering to the ankles.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Now I have a slim leg pattern I will be working it to death.
It worked for me with plenty of alterations but that's what I have to do to get pants to fit. I hesitate to recommend any pants pattern to anyone of a different shape to my own. Conclusion:
See My blog for full details of my fitting issues.
