Believe it or not, these adorable little earbud cases are super easy using the method created by Brian Remlinger of Brian sews. Here is the link for his YouTube video, which I recommend watching in it's entirety before starting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3zDM7rC0vA. I made my first one, start to finish in about 20 minutes.
These take almost no fabric. The most expensive item is the zipper. You will want to use about a 9-inch zipper, but if you happen to have a longer one hanging around, that's fine too, as you just cut off all that you don't use.
A couple of specifics: Brian says just use a large plastic cup for the circle template. After some experimenting, I decided a 4-inch diameter cup was the perfect size. Brian is really loosey-goosey with his starting pieces, just using scraps of any old size. I am a little too old-school for that I guess, so I cut 6.5 inch squares, because that was an easy size with my rotary ruler. Worked very well.
I think these make adorable gifts! |
