Pattern Description:
Great easy versatile jacket featuring a soft peplum with tucks falling from the princess line. The ¾ sleeve has a slit cuff that can be worn up or down. Wear it with or without a waisted belt – or dress it up with an interesting stud closure
Pattern Sizing:
6 - 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16 - 18 - 20 - 22 - 24 - 26 - 28 - 30
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
In StyleArc fashion, the instructions were sparse but they did include photos to aide in sewing the collar and cuffs.
The collar neck back attachment was still a bit tricky as it required sewing a corner into a corner. I'm not sure if it was specific to my pattern but the cuff pattern piece had me cut 2 pairs, but I only needed one pair. Instead it should have probably had me cut a pair in interfacing as well since my cuffs are "floppy" when I turn them up and are an awkard length on me when worn down - I should know better...
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This was an easy casual jacket to complete.
Fabric Used: Ponteroma knit I bought at Hancock's ages ago
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not make any alterations although next time I may do a small sway back alteration. Since my jacket is not lined I did finish the seams with seam binding. I also used Pam Erny's "wrapped-edge facing" technique to give a flat, clean look to my facing finish. At first I did not add a closure but I went back and added a button/buttonhole.
without closure
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew it again for my daughter, perhaps in a stretch woven.
Conclusion:
Great casual piece for my wardrobe.
