Pattern Description: Loose-fitting tops and tunic have collar, collar/front bands, carrier, yoke with forward shoulder seams, front pleats and short sleeves or long sleeves with gathers,continuous lap, button cuff, and narrow hem. B: shaped hemline

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, with the exception of what I changed
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the yoke detail at the back and the little loop positioned at the center back of the collar stand to keep
the sash/tie band in place. Its concealed when you fold down the collar. I liked the "hi-lo" effect. I like that the sash is removable. Even though I changed it, I also like the way the cuffs were designed. I like that the blouse has just enough ease in the waist and hip area.
Fabric Used: Silk Chiffon
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I stitched down the pleats at the shoulder to make tucks instead. I didn't want the volume at my shoulders. I omitted the sleeve plackets and made "barrel cuffs"instead by seaming them up and not forming a placket.
Would you sew it again? Yes, I would, I think the style of the shirt is timeless even with the low back design
Conclusion: Its a simple design and it sews up quickly, in terms of the time it takes to make a shirt with a professional look. |
