Pattern Description: Close fitting asymmetrical dress with a fuller skirt.
Pattern Sizing: 34-44. I made a 42 and graded the hip up about two inches.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The pattern is simple and pretty easy to make. Burda directions usually a pretty sucky but you can make it through if you need to use them. Coincidentally this patterns is in the issue with a more detailed directions for beginners.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the asymmetrical neckline! So fun. I thought I really liked the skirt but then after making it I realized the seams hit at the largest point on my hipline making it a little less flattering then I hoped.
Fabric Used: Organic cotton jersey.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added about two inches to the hips and had to make a sway back alteration.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I might re-sew this one... likely chop off the skirt and draft my own that may be more flattering. I'd hate to scrap the whole dress since I like the neckline so. I do recommend this but you may have the same issue I have with the skirt seams hitting the widest part of yo. It's a fun dress.
Conclusion: I'm so glad I made it. But I think I am not done with it and will likely alter it to suit my figure a little better. Read more on my blog.
