Pattern Description: Semi fitted knit tops by Katherine Tilton. Neckband, princess seams, shaped hemline flounces, long sleeve, raw edge hem.
Pattern Sizing:
8-22 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes, although I attached the flounces incorrectly, but the idea is there
Were the instructions easy to follow? Not entirely; when you get to sewing the flounces, as others have commented, it can be tricky to see what is intended. Study the line drawing, and you should be fine. Don't do what I did, which was the conventional right-side to right side and seam.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's quite pretty on the model, but I decided it's not that flattering on someone of my shape. Here's a rear view. the dress form is exactly my size. My rear is already flouncy enough. It has occurred to me that perhaps I should have shortened it just a bit; I am 5' 4", possibly it would be more flattering if it was shorter.
Fabric Used: thin drapey knit of unknown composition. More stash busting
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: none
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I probably won't make it again, but instead will use it to dress my dress form when it's not otherwise in use.
Conclusion: Could work for you; not thrilled with it on me....

Great review and insight. I have been looking at this pattern. I am 5 foot 2 and it might look a bit out of proportion. However, I saw this made up on a tall medium build lady and it was really cute.

Lovely fabric! What a pity this one did not work for you. At least your dress form will be very stylish! Amanda, I am exactly 5'2" and the short version is a good length on me, sitting just below the butt!

ok, duh... I didn't see that they were different lengths! Maybe I won't give up on this yet, but will try the shorter version. In general, I am impressed with K Tilton's patterns

I have made this pattern 4 times without the ruffles. I am only 5ft 1" and I get compliments all the time. I have made one with short sleeves and scooped out the back a bit - a real favourite. I wouldn't wear the ruffle as it accentuates the hips. Love it.

trifiss, thanks, omitting the ruffle is also a good idea, I may tackle this again...

I just finished this pattern. Ended up taking in the seams quite a bit for a more fitted look. Now I love how it fits. Also changed the neckline and made the neck binding about half as wide. Have had lots of postive comments on this shirt. Love the colour of your shirt.

HI LynneH I took the seams in a bit as well and also narrowed the neck band. For summer I did short sleeves and scooped the neckline, it is so comfortable and always looks nice. Lynda
