Pattern Description:
This is a jersey faux-wrap dress.
Pattern Sizing:
34-42. I made the size 34.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
This looks just like the model photo and the line drawing. I've seen other people make this dress from the original magazine (maybe 2006?).
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions are more thorough than your typical BurdaStyle magazine. I didn't really use them all that much but I did glance through them. The pattern sheets are like the older sheets (like 2008, 2009, 2010?) in that they are sparse and very easy to trace.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love wrap dresses and I've seen this pattern before and liked it on the others. I like that it has the added pleats on the front of the dress panels. I think it's a fun extra detail. I like that the hem is curved on the two front panels. I also really like the shaping darts on the skirt and the bodice.
Fabric Used:
This is an ITY jersey from Fabric.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't make any changes. If I did make this again, which I might, I would add a half inch to the bodice front and back. You can see that the seam joining the skirt and bodice is just a tiny bit higher than my natural waist.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I might and I do!

I like how the back has the pattern down the middle on the top and then when it gets to the waist it looks like you centered it between two other "stripes." Very cool looking- even if unintentional. BTW- your DH is adorable! He matches you! 1/24/13 6:52 PM

grays08 said... I love this! I just traced this off and looked over the info - Burda uses a snap in between the "girls" (and two others apparently in other places) which is why all their photos look like it's pulling there and pinned. I'm not sure about doing this because like you said it looks pinned but perhaps I can figure out something more clever, not likely! Thanks for your review, I had this sitting on my shelf and never thought to trace it off but love yours! 1/28/13 10:46 AM
