Pattern Description: This is Simplicity's pattern 1771, designed by Andrea Schewe, copyrighted 2012. It's for misses' and men's fairytale/storybook/"Hobbit" costumes. A: Misses' & men's cape with hood & decorative frog closure at throat. B: Misses' dress, scarf, and apron. C: Misses' dress and apron. I made the cape.
Pattern Sizing: The pattern comes in sizes XS-XL. I made size XL.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it looked like the cape the male model was wearing on the pattern envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were reasonably easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that it makes a handsome cape, and that it would make a reasonable Jedi cloak for a "Star Wars" costume. I have no actual dislikes.
Fabric Used: Brown cotton, the reason being is that I liked the fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made none.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I decided that one cape from the pattern is plenty. Yes, I'd recommend it to others.
