Pattern Description:
MISSES' SKIRTS: Tiered skirts, ankle length, have yoke, side zipper and unfinished edges; skirt B has contrast tiers.

Pattern Sizing: 6-20, however, it appears to be OOP and McCall's only has the 14-20 size in stock.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Sort of- mine is shorter.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
I barely glanced at them, actually. I found it was fairly straightforward to put together.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the skirt design overall, except for the double layer yoke. It seems unnecessary to have a yoke be in layers, it just adds the extra bulk of a seam right across your hip. I will probably draft a yoke for it that is one layer.

Fabric Used:
A crushed velvet knit with a little bit of stretch.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't alter the pattern, but I did leave off the bottom 3 layers to make a shorter skirt. I also sewed the layers with the raw edges on the inside, rather than on the outside as shown on the pattern envelope. This didn't really make any difference to the construction. I ran a double row of gathering stitches along the top of each tier, and then pinned this to the bottom of the tier above it, and pulled the gathers to fit, spacing them evenly with my fingers. I stitched them RST so that the edges would be on the inside, and then I serged the edges. I put the yoke and zipper in the same way I've ever done any yoke and zipper, and I whip stitched the yoke down on the inside.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will sew it again. I want to make a full length version. I love how swingy it is, when I twirl around, if flares out really nicely! I'd recommend it to someone who doesn't mind lots of cutting and gathering.

Conclusion:
I like this skirt quite a bit. It has a nice boho vibe to it - I can see myself making a few out of some cotton or silk to wear in the summer. Maybe in mixed prints!
