| Pattern Description:
blouse with side zip and front tucks
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
it would have, but i made a few changes...
Were the instructions easy to follow?
probably, though i didn't really need them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i like the simplicity and versatility of this top. it is easily customizable to fit into your wardrobe. i didn't like how you are supposed to hem the cap sleeve. instead i hemmed the sleeve before sewing the side seams. i added a little extra fabric onto the outer edge of the SA to make this even easier... i have a pic on my blog (linked at the end of my review) to show you what i mean!
Fabric Used:
100% rayon challis
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
i have a thing about not putting zips into tops, so i left out the side zip, didn't sew the tucks, added shirring at the waist for shape, added 3" in length, and added a tiny pocket just for fun!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
most likely i'll make this blouse again. it's perfect for layering and easily customizable since it's such a simple top.
Conclusion:
i'm not much into wearing vintage looking garments (though i love looking at them!), still i enjoyed gertie's book and want to make up most of the patterns. the blouse would be perfectly lovely as is, but i made all those changes so it would suit my style better. this one will get worn a lot, and i just love the fabric!

Very sweet. I also love your meringue skirts. What a great suggestion to face it with elastic! Gonna go get me some!
