close up of ties with mood beads attached
Pattern Description:
Misses' Seven Sizes in One" and described by New Look as "easy"
Pattern Sizing:
Misses sizes 10-22, all included in the pattern envelope
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except I did not use a contrast fabric for the hemline band.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, finally! I have grown into the instructions (you may not have problems at all!).
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like all the options and the size range offered in one pattern.
Fabric Used:
This is a lightweight cotton, maybe a lawn? It has what might be called dotted swiss or flocked thread clusters. They are in brown, aqua, and apple green. The drape on this fabric is lovely and I think it appoximates what the photo on the envelope suggests you use. Drapey is key.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the straps, front and back, raised the neckline, and added mood beads (from JAF) at the tie ends. (The color of mood beads changes with the ambient temperature, so the color ranges from deep green, to brown, to turquoise blue which kind of matches the color of the dots. Kind of--the mood bead colors are jewel toned and the dots on the fabric are a bit muted, although not really pastel.)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes.
Conclusion:
Love this pattern. I've sewn it 6 times now and I'm sure I've got at least 6 more versions I could easily do.
It was a good choice for the OPML. My biggest feat with the pattern is it has become a TNT and I finally understand how to do the ties and the band at the hemline.

Wow - another great top. The beads on the ties look great and it is really cool that they change colours in the same colours as the dots. Love the wider band on this one
