Pattern Description: Five different skirts (flared, A line, pencil) with waistband and zip.
Pattern Sizing:
Six sizes in one (US 8-18, European 34-44).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
More or less. I made version E, the A-line, but brought it into more of a pencil shape because the stiff fabric was making it too bell-like.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I grabbed this pattern because I was looking for a really basic A-line skirt, and it was cheap! It was a nice, simple pattern, easy to fit because there were so few pieces, and easy to sew.
Fabric Used:
I used this crazy home dec weight fabric that I bought from Ikea on a whim. I spent a lot of time pondering placement (including avoiding getting that big white bullseye circle in the wrong place). The waist band (which you can't see in this pic) I cut on a little line of dots.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut a size 14 based on the pattern measurements, but had to seriously let out the darts (and the side seams, if we're being honest), as it was just barely fitting in the waist. I also decided to bring in the sides as mentioned above. I used an invisible zipper. I also finished the hem with some jaunty red bias tape, which is hard to make out in my dimly lit photo.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I might sew it again because it's easy. I might not because I don't love the super narrow waistband, and there are some other pencil skirts I'd like to try.
Conclusion:
Not bad! Nice to make something that comes together fairly quickly!

I really like that fabric and the way you are wearing it too. Note to self "Check out home decor fabrics".
