Pattern Description:
"Flared skirts in three lengths have front slash
pockets and centre back zipper closure. View A is below the knee
with optional belt loops. View B is knee length with button tabs on
the waistband. View C is above the knee."
I made View C. I am 5'9", if anyone wants that for context.
Pattern Sizing:
0 - 16, I made size 16.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, I think it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were very easy to follow. This would be a good pattern for someone just learning to sew, but it's interesting enough that I think an advanced sewer would like making it too.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like everything about this pattern. One of the really nice things is that each skirt length is individually printed on the sheets, so I could make all three skirts if I wanted to. Most patterns like this usually just nest the different lengths together, so I'd either have to trace the shorter length if I wanted to preserve the longer skirts. I really like the pockets, I like the way the skirt was drafted in general. I cut and sewed this skirt up in a day, and I really like that about it. This is a real winner for me. It's sweet and swingy and just the right length.
Fabric Used:
Cotton jacquard double gauze
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
NONE! Which is highly unusual for me. I didn't even make a muslin, which I do not recommend, but I really trusted this pattern. It's just the waist measurement, so I wasn't too worried about it. OH wait, I did do one thing: I cut the waist band pattern piece in half and cut it out of my fabric on the fold. Not really that big of a deal, but I wanted to conserve my fabric.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
YES! I'm going to make a million of these.
Conclusion:
Make this! You'll love it! Worth every penny.
