With roughly six months of sewing experience under my belt, I took on the challenge of making for myself a well-fitting pair of trousers. Since Tasia of Sewaholic Patterns and I seem to have very similar body proportions, I felt that the Thurlow Trousers would be a good fit for me. As a beginner sewer, this pattern was quite a challenge (particularly with the front fly and welt pockets), but I persevered through several muslins and finally made a few pairs of well-fitting trousers for myself, and I couldn't be happier with them. Now that I've customized the fit of the trousers exactly to my liking, I plan on making many many more pairs of Thurlows.
I've written more in detail about my trousers (with additional photos on my blog here and here.)

You've done a great job! One complaint...I went to your blog, and now I want some broccoli-cheddar soup.... 1/27/13 12:14 PM

Unless they are super stretchy skinny pants. I think you have achieved a very good fit indeed. Great job. 1/28/13 0:49 AM
