| Pattern Description:
Misses' pullover dress, is loose-fitting with front midriff & back ties, bodice & sleeve variations.
I made dress A.
Pattern Sizing:
D5 (4-6-8-10-12); P5 (12-14-16-18-20)
I sewed size 12 (with the side seams being an 10).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. I did mine with contrasting bands & belt.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like:
- the kimono sleeves and the sleeve bands;
- the neckline finished with a self bias binding;
- the self-faced front bands and self-lined midriff.
I also like the loose fit of the dress which is adjustable with the tie belt.
Fabric Used:
Dress #1: Rayon Crepe; contrast fabric: Satin Crepe.
Dress #2: Crepe de Chine; contrast fabric: Peau de Soie.
Dress #3: Linen Rayon blend for both.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I sewed the dress in my regular 12, but the sides were sewn in one size smaller (10).
Front bands, midriff, ties & sleeve bands were made in a contrasting fabric.
I added a button with a thread loop closure to the bodice front bands opening edge.
The length of the dress was modified:
Dress #1 is 2" shorter (knee);
Dress #2 is 3" longer (mid-calf);
Dress #3 is 2" longer (below knee).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have already made three of the same view. If I do it again, I will probably switch to view B.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes or wants to try kimono style dresses. It was simple and easy to make. The contrast bands, midriff & ties make it very interesting.
Conclusion:
This dress has a relaxing look. It has a lot of ease and is easy to wear. The ties can be knotted at the back or tied to the front. I really like the fit and how comfortable it is.
