Pattern Description: Above mid-knee, straight dresses A, B, C have diagonal seams in front, back exposed zipper and extended shoulders, forming cap sleeve; dress A has front cut-out; dress B has diagonal, exposed decorative zippers; dress C has topstitched seams.

Pattern Sizing: 6-12, I cut an 8.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the diagonal seams! I think it looks so cool! I love me a dress with a center-back seam too, makes fitting that much easier

Fabric Used: Denim-look knit (no actual denim). Blend of polyester, viscose, spandex. Picked the last 1.4 m on the bolt @ 75% off! Grand total of fabric was less than $5!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used an invisible zipper in back instead of an exposed zipper. I recently bought an invisible zipper foot and I'm pleased that it worked so well! Glad to get in some zipper practice

Surprisingly I didn't really have any fit issues with this pattern. I made a muslin first and it came together really quickly. This "denim-esque" dress took a lot longer, mostly because of all the topstitching (I made two rows on all the front seams, and along the shoulders and side seams *without* a double-needle).

It was definitely worth the extra time though, as the fabric has somewhat of a "tie-dye" appearance and makes the gold denim thread a little harder to see.

I will warn you if you are planning to sew this dress, it's short! I'm barely 5ft 2". I'm so used to having to hem dresses shorter, that I did'nt check the length before cutting the fabric. I cut a 1 & 1/2" wide strip of self fabric the circumference of the dress and sewed to the bottom of the dress (right sides together) with barely a 1/4" seam allowance and pressed the strip under to the inside of the dress and sewed the hem so I didn't really lose any length (I apologize if I'm not making this clear!

I used bias tape for the neckline instead of a narrow hem (grrr narrow hems on necklines!).

I used a row of basting stitches 5/8'' along the armholes as a quide to help me make a narrow hem there. I think that was about the most challenging thing about this dress.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely! Very highly recommended

Conclusion: This is such a great pattern! If you're sewing this as per instructions (without the extra rows of topstitching),you can easily sew this dress in an evening or two.

Very satisfying sewing project that's very trendy

Cute dress! Great fit, but that obviously is not an issue for your great little figure. Nice job!

I love your version. I'm really enjoying the version I made too. Actually the shortness of this dress suited my 'height' to a tee.

Thanks for the head's up on the length. I am 5'2 as well and I would not have thought of checking the length beforehand!
