Pattern Description:
Vintage 1940 reprint of four shirts
Pattern Sizing:
6 - 14, I made a 12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
For the most part they were. I had to reread the instructions for the back facing a few times before understanding where to sew and cut.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the technique for adding the button loop onto the neck binding. It made for a very clean finish. I also liked using the sleeve heading for the gathered sleeve. It gives it an extra poof.
Fabric Used:
Country Cotton shirting from fabric.com (2 yrs for 6.98)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not include the bows on the sleeves or the shoulder pads.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I would sew it again, to make view C or D.
Conclusion:
I was worried this was going to be way to big in the bust because of the ease on the pattern, but when I have it on it looks great. I was worried making this pattern - as there weren't any reviews - so I didn't know if there would be anything weird with the pattern. This was pretty easy to construct.

talesofawannabe said... Very pretty blouse! I am so happy your reviewed this pattern. May I ask how tall you are? Looking at the envelope I am worried this may be too short for me. Is it a length you can wear untucked? 1/29/13 10:01 PM
Jasst282 said... I uploaded a picture of me wearing it! The review gallery image should link to it. The neck is just right - not to tight or to loose. I'm 5'4", and I think it looks good untucked. 1/30/13 10:18 PM

lbremers said... I am making the blouse without the bows but when I took it oout of the package and got ready to make the FBA I stopped and checked in here to see exactly how you would go about making it bigger in the bust. Without darts, etc. I wonder what to do. I considered enlarging the gathering distance at the neckline as that is where the pattern seems to provide room for a bust. Anybody with a C or D cup have any suggestions for a FBA on this? Thanks. 5/10/13 8:51 PM
