Pattern Description: Semi-fitted, lined jackets, princess seams, collar and lapels, gored back (back is longer than front) and shaped hem. Flared, bias skirt , above ankle has waistband and side zipper closure.
Pattern Sizing: 8-14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes, the second time around. I originally made this out of a heavy wool that wouldn't drape softly.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Mostly. Like others, I did not follow the lining instructions, and bagged the jacket lining, instead.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The Peplum (aka bustle in this case) and the bias flow of the skirt.
Fabric Used: Rayon, polyester blend, very soft and flowy, although it appears to have a boucle texture, it doesn't.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Shortened sleeves, and a small FBA. Fully lined the skirt and bagged the jacket lining. I did not add the shoulder pads, it looked so good without them. I had to tack down the peplum to keep it laying smooth.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Well, this was the second time around, only because the first fabric choice just did not do the pattern justice. I might make it again, if I find the right fabric. But is really a unique jacket.
Conclusion: The pictures on the pattern are so beautiful, and it feels great when I wore it to work today. It was worth all the effort to get the jacket right.
