Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are pretty good considering it's Burda. I loosely followed along just to see how they are written.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's a great top that can be layered for most anytime of the year. It's a breeze to assemble. I don't think this top really needs the addition of darts in the design. It could have been created to omit them easily, or I could have exclude them. On most occasions I find that (most) knits don't need darts since knit is so forgiving and able to be form fitting (stable knits can usually benefit from darting) . The charm of using many knits is to keep it all simple and take advantage of it's pliable character. But really it's not that big a deal with such a casual garment, I was just surprised it had darts is all.
Fabric Used: Modal with spandex with a lovely four-way stretch.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't use vilene (I don't know a good, reasonably priced source in the U.S. Does anyone?) I used a 3/8" wide clear elastic on the inside of the back neckline for stability. I left all the hems and sleeves edges raw- modal looks great with a raw edge and drapes better then with a folded sewn one.
I made a size 40. This is about a size or two smaller then I'd normally sew for me. I had to consider the major amount of four-way stretch my fabric has. If I used a more stable knit I would go between 42 and 44.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I may sew this one again in a more neutral color or in a crazy pattern. It's a versatile top that can be used as a sweater. I do recommend this one. It is available on Burda's website as a PDF for the same price I found it in JoAnn's.
