Pattern Description: Lined dress has forward shoulder seams, bias front, fitted bodice with shoulder pleats, raised waist, semi-fitted skirt, right side pleats, bias back pleated midriff, invisible back zipper, and slit
Pattern Sizing:10 - 18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?It looked a lot like the envelope except for the weird pose the Vogue model struck.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Easy enough but I barely looked at them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern went together quickly but I was troubled by the bias pleated rear midriff. The pleats(tucks) fold up to match the pleating on the front of the skirt but the darn things don't want to stay in that position. I interfaced and pressed madly but they still refuse to behave. Maybe I did something wrong.
Fabric Used: I picked up the fabric at a salvage store. I have no idea what it really is but it appears to be a nice jersey knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I skipped the lining and turned the back neck seam in and sewed it in place. The front neckline was self-faced. I serged the seams. I also skipped the slit on the skirt (see what happens when you don't read the directions?)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would recommend this pattern to others for sure. It's an easy pattern to assemble and it looks good on my model. Her co-workers gave it excellent reviews.
Conclusion: It was fun to sew a knit for a change.
